How to convince my parents to get texing?

they think im spoiled to even get texing because they were little and they did not not have texting and sometimes i wish that they had this stuff so when they were little they understand that texting is a way of commuticating to frends. but no they say why donn't you just call your friends up and i said I DO NOT WANT TO BOTHER THEM CALING EVERY SECOND.they just wont pay the price of it helllo!!!!!!!!!!!!WE ARE IN THE PRESENT IN THE PRESENT THEY HAVE TEXTING THATS WHAT EVERY KID WANTS TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!as for starting middle school im getting new friends, they ask "do you have texting?" and i say say in fact no my parents wouldint let me have it. i get soooooooo embarred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please help me i dont want to be tooo spoiled im just saying its the lastest communicaton. i have verizon wireless.
